SueAnn Armstrong, Interim

Oversees the organization, administration, vision, funding, and direction of the Project. Directs new program development and response to community needs and requests.

Oversees patient navigation program or consultation planning, education program, support group program, and "warmline" volunteer program. Facilitates support groups and promotes dialogue between clients and the medical community. Came to the Project when she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1999.

Helps clients to understand general information about their condition. Helps prepare clients for medical appointments through the consultation planning process. Supports communication between clients and their medical practitioner. Has been an active volunteer since she came to the Project when she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2004.

Helps clients to understand information about their conditions with specific focus on gynecologic cancer. Helps clients to prepare for consultation plans (CPs) and provides tips about treatment and options regarding gynecologic cancer. Rebecca facilitates the Gyn Girls, our Gynecologic Cancer Support Group. Came to the Breast Health Project after being diagnosed with Hodgkin's Disease in 2003.

Responsible for the Project's outreach to the women in our diverse communities. Presents information about our services, early detecction, the importance of regular screening, and financial resources for screening. This outreach includes health fairs, presentations, and educational campaigns. Coordinates with local media and works on outreach to local medical providers. Interprets for our Spanish-speaking clients in medical appointments and at the Project office. Was diagnosed with DCIS in 2000 and began working at the Project in 2006.

Responsible for special projects. Helps plan major educational events such as the annual WeCAN seminar, edits the Project newsletter, and oversees outreach in our Native communities. Has been an active volunteer at the Project since 2001, after her second breast cancer experience.

Works on the Project database ensuring the tracking system is updated and efficient. Organizes bulk mailings and helps with the arrangement of the Project space. Responsible for bookkeeping, accounting, ordering, technology repair and is the contact person for office questions.

Coordinates volunteer assignments and plans the annual Sales for Survivors campaign. Also picks up special projects and fundraising opportunities for the Project.
